How to choose the correct reel handles

The most straightforward way to choose your reel handle is to check the product fitment table to find the correct handles according to your reel model. 

If you cannot find your reel model number in the product fitment table, or if you are not familiar with the reel information, please continue reading the guide.

For baitcasting reels, the shaft size is the key to make the correct and suitable choice for you. We have 3 dimensions for the shaft size, 7x4mm, 8x5mm and 6x6mm. Most manufacturers provide compatibility information, so double-check before purchasing to avoid any mishaps.

So, if your shaft size is 7x4mm, just go ahead and choose from the baitcasting reel handle with 7x4mm shaft size. It will fit perfect on your reel.

If your shaft size is 8x5mm, then please choose handles with an 8x5mm shaft.

How to know my Shaft Size

To measure the shaft size of your baitcasting reels, please follow the steps in the picture below:

Tips:

1. All Bass Pro Shops low profile baitcasting reels come with an 8x5mm shaft.
2. All Daiwa low profile baitcasting reels come with an 8x5mm shaft.
3. All Lew’s low profile baitcasting reels come with an 8x5mm shaft.
4. All Okuma low profile baitcasting reels come with an 8x5mm shaft.
5. All Quantum low profile baitcasting reels come with an 8x5mm shaft.
6. All 13 Fishing low profile baitcasting reels come with an 7x4mm shaft.
7. For Abu Garcia and Shimano baitcasting reels, please check the product fitment table.
